The Japan Diaries: Osaka Day 1

Green Bulb PR’s 2016 Getaway happened last November in Japan. Dubbed #MatchAwaitedVacay, it was a time for every one to take that much-needed break after a megasuperultra hectic year. It was definitely one for the books, as we shopped, ate, and relaxed for almost four solid days in Kyoto and Osaka.

It’s been two months I know, but hey, better late than never, right? In a series of posts, I’ll be sharing some bits from our trip. Photo galore, here we go! 🙂

Day One was spent exploring Osaka. It was fall season so it was cold, and the morning we went to Tsukiji Fish Market for breakfast, I had such a hard time moving and using my hands (tip: going here in the fall season, you better have your gloves ready). The weather was perfect for strolling though, and we spent the morning exploring the grounds of Osaka Castle and also went to the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living.

Afterwards, we went to this super delish tempura restaurant (pity I forgot to note the name) where I had the best tempura dish of my life! Definitely notches above what we get served here in the Philippines. It was along Tenjinbashi-suji, where we also browsed some shops.

At night, we finally went to Dotonbori for that famed okonomiyaki fix and to look at the shops. It was a crazy place! I felt like an avalanche of people would take me anytime. It was a very busy area with all the crowds, neon lights, and sounds. Of course we didn’t forget to take a photo with the Glico Man, a true Osaka tourist landmark.
